ANS: Thou shalt not kill.

SEE: Exodus 20:13

55. What is the significance of the Sixth Commandment?

ANS. The Sixth Commandment declares the sovereignty of God over life and death, and forbids the unlawful taking of human life, or whatsoever tends there to, that is every thought, motivation, inclination and action that tends towards that act. Thus, the Sixth Commandment condemns all unrighteous anger, vindictiveness, envy, jealousy, covetousness, hatred. Just as all sin begins in the heart, so does the taking of a human life.
